The Collectors Club

by Peter C. Conrad

Working in the raw primary materials housed in provincial and national archives provides documents, letters, diary entries that suggest another reality, something beyond what we read in the books produced by historians like me. These anomalies may be missed files narratives, records of errors in information, or something not yet exposed, but they let the fatigued researcher take a break from the monotony of recording details, footnoting and annotating; they can be sources for stories of alternative events in history. Such discoveries in my own work led to my work in alternative history, and the novel Beyond Time.

Another series of books inspired by history and time travel for the Juvenile market was also created as an outcome of these musings: The Collectors Club.
